CyberKids
CyberKids is a program whereby Candlelighters places a laptop computer with a child/youth being treated for cancer.
These children are often absent from school for long periods of time, and the nature of their disease makes their day-to-day abilities to participate and complete schoolwork activities difficult. The provision of computers with age appropriate software programs, internet access and e-mail capabilities gives these kids access to being able to complete academic projects at their own pace all while maintaining contact with their school and friends, and fulfilling their willingness to continue their educational studies.
