My Story
Jessica’s Story
Hi my name is Jessica Scott. I was diagnosed with A.L.L. (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) in September 2006.
We had a lot of hospital stays and visits. Candlelighters helped us with covering the cost at Ronald McDonald House, so that my family could stay there when I was in Hospital. They also gave us a parking pass for many visits I had.
The best day that I had was when I was on chemo for the first month, the Doctors did another bone marrow test. They found it was clear. My CANCER was gone.
A few weeks later my Interlink Nurse, Isabelle came and told me that Candlelighters were going to lend me a laptop to help me with my school stuff while I was in hospital. Which was a lot. I was also able to stay in touch with my friends on MSN. I could tell them how I was feeling and how my treatments was going. It was great to talk to them.
Another week later Isabelle came to tell me about the Courage Beads. My mom and I looked at my protocol, and we got the beads for each poke or procedure I had. I have been collecting them ever since.
Thanks you Candlelighters for all your help and support.
Sincerely,
Jessica Scott
