Smiling Siblings Watercolour Workshops
Candlelighters is very pleased to present “Smiling Siblings Watercolour Workshops”. We are excited about this new initiative and hope you and your children will share our enthusiasm.
Based on input and feedback received from our member families, this program is for the brothers and sisters of childhood cancer patients. Every year about 65 kids are diagnosed with cancer here in the national capital region. The brothers and sisters become immersed into a life changing reality and will have experiences that will impact them as they grow up.
With that in mind, Smiling Siblings Watercolour Workshops is a monthly outing that is especially for them. It is open to siblings aged 4 and older. Pretty much everyone likes to paint and explore their creativity, and there is nothing better than creating something of your own. We are pleased to introduce Jennifer Nicol-Campbell to you and she will be facilitating the workshops at Plant Recreation Centre. Jennifer is fabulous! With her guidance, everyone participating will leave each week with the beautiful watercolour they have painted on their very own and children age 4 an up can participate.
The first thing you need to do is register the siblings with Candlelighters at the office by completing the package and getting it back to us. Once your child is registered (no cost to you) they will be welcome to attend any and all of the workshops offered thereafter. Then all you have to do is drop them at the Recreation Centre for 1:00 pm and pick them up at 3:00 pm on the scheduled day.
