Survivorship is most often the longest part of the childhood cancer journey. The following programs have been put in place by Candlelighters to meet the ongoing needs of the membership.

Candlelighters Survivor Support include:


YSI – Youth Survivor Initiative

YSI is a program for Candlelighters members aged 13-18 who have been off treatment for a minimum of 1 year. The purpose of the group is to provide teen survivors with an opportunity to connect in a social setting. The YSI Program runs September to June with a variety of events planned throughout the year.

Post-Secondary Equipment Support for Survivors

Candlelighters has committed to addressing the need for additional support in the survivor population. Post-Secondary Equipment Support gives survivors an opportunity to apply for up to $500 in financial support for required equipment (technology, software, toolkits etc.) in the program they are enrolled in. Survivor Counselling

Survivors of childhood cancer often have long term affects that could benefit from counselling. This program provides funding and opportunity to access psychosocial care .
